Laura Custer

Administrative Ministry Assistant

What I do at TLC:  You will find me in the office Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning each week. I am the numbers girl. My primary duties are dealing with budget items including writing checks and reconciling deposits, payroll, and updating membership information. I am also here to accomplish the many other tasks needed in the work of the church.

Hometown: I was born & raised in White Cloud, a small town approximately 50 miles northeast of Muskegon. My family moved to Muskegon in 2002 to live in the home where my father grew up. I graduated from White Cloud High School, class of 1989.

Education:  BS degree in Business Administration, Michigan Technological University, 1995

Work Experience:  Michigan’s Adventure, Apartment Management, Mackinac Island: Island House Hotel, AM Dining Room Manager, Menards: Building Materials Asst. Manager, Contractor Sales Manager, House Estimator, Dear Kamp Daycare, Benton Lake Campground Manager, WSLS, & now TLC.

My Favorite Part of Serving:  Helping people connect with members which have similar interests to do the work God sent us to do.  I have always been a numbers girl, so I enjoy helping to keep the numbers in order, both financially and membership.

Family: My husband Ken and I met on Mackinac Island in 1998, were married in 1999 at Kruse Park on Lake Michigan here in Muskegon. Our two children, Emily and Wade, attended WSLS until 2016.  They now attend Mona Shores.  Emily is in the Choir and has participated in the Singing Christmas Tree. Wade is in Band and Wrestling.  We enjoy outdoor activities including hunting and hanging out at our true one room log cabin in Brohman.

Hobbies: I enjoy outdoor activities, participating in sports, cooking, painting, and volunteering in many activities at church and school.

Favorite Bible Verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  Philippians 4:13
